Private PracticeAssociate Professor Sharon Van Doornum is a consultant rheumatologist with additional training and experience in clinical research, epidemiology and statistics.
In addition to clinical work (consulting with patients) A/Prof Van Doornum has undertaken research into various topics related to the management of patients with inflammatory arthritis. Her research has included investigation of surrogate markers of vascular disease in patients with inflammatory arthritis, interventional studies measuring the effect of statins and biologic agents on vascular function in rheumatoid arthritis and analysis of linked health data.

Private PracticeDr. Wilsdon is a senior staff specialist for the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Austin Hospital. Tom completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Queensland and practiced as a pharmacist while studying medicine. He graduated with honors from the University of Melbourne and began his physician training at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. He completed Rheumatology and Clinical Pharmacology training at multiple hospitals in Adelaide and Melbourne.
Dr. Wilsdon is interested in all rheumatological conditions, including inflammatory arthritis, crystal arthritis, vasculitis, polymyalgia rheumatica, connective tissue diseases, inflammatory myopathies, sarcoidosis, osteoarthritis, and general musculoskeletal conditions. He is an expert in therapeutics and dose individualization, with extensive experience in managing complex rheumatological problems.

She has a special interest in Vestibular and Cerebellar Disorders, having completed both the basic and advanced Australian Physiotherapy (APA) Vestibular Rehabilitation Courses in 2011 and 2012, respectively, and the Susan Herdman Vestibular Rehabilitation Basic and Advanced Competency courses in 2013 and 2015.
More recently, Laura has branched into the treatment of Vestibular Disorders in School-aged Children and Adolescence.
